Class I
- Who: Commercial aviators who fly passengers. It is also called an Airline Transport Pilot certificate
- When to Renew:
- under 40 years of age, every 12 months.
- 40 or over, every 6 months.

- EKG (electrocardiogram)
Class II
- Who: Commercial aviators, aviation navigators, flight controllers, and flight engineers
- When to Renew: Usually every 12 months.
- What to Expect:
- full history and physical
- urine test
- eye test
Class III
- Who: Private and recreational pilots, student pilots, and flight instructors.
- When to Renew:
- under 40 years of age, after 60 calendar months.
- 40 years of age or over, after 24 calendar months.
- What to Expect:
- full history and physical
- urine test
- eye test
